National Trust attorneys will provide an overview of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Then using examples, they’ll cover how preservationists can use this law to advocate for the protection of historic resources. After this presentation, participants will be able to: 1) Identify the key elements of Section 106 most commonly used in advocacy; 2) Be aware of common pitfalls in Section 106 consultation and how to avoid them; 3) Use a set of tips and best practices to make future consultations productive and helpful in saving historic place
