Deadline: October 30, 2019Organization: Preservation VirginiaLocation: Richmond, VA Type: Full-TimeSalary: Not ProvidedGeneral Responsibilities: The Preservation Specialist/Project Manager is responsible for ensuring preservation and short and long-term maintenance plans for each Preservation Virginia property and works with external groups to advise and assist on fee-for-service projects. The position oversees and directs maintenance and capital projects at Preservation Virginia properties, including the budget and arrangements with external contractors. The Preservation Services Specialist supervises a team of two restoration craftspeople. The position reports to the Director of Museum Operations.
Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in historic preservation and an understanding of historic buildings’ construction, care and maintenance. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will have the ability to read and interpret complex documents, such as contracts and legal documents, as well blueprints and other plan documents; ability to write detailed reports and ability to speak effectively in small groups.
Salary: Position is a full-time, salaried position. Salary commensurate with experience.
