Last year, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Trust for Historic Preservation hosted a series of meetings and symposia across the country to discuss the future of preservation. We gathered hundreds of preservation professionals and our allies—including people who don't necessarily identify as preservationists—to talk about the challenges and opportunities that preservation is facing today.
The result of these meetings is Preservation for People: A Vision for the Future.
Going forward the National Trust intends to use this document to guide our work. We also hope that other preservation partners and allies will incorporate the aspects in the document that align with their own missions in their work. We encourage you to read the document and then join in discussion on Forum Connect. Read more about the vision document in the Preservation Leadership Forum blog post.
