Developed in the summer of 2018, ten students at universities across the United States were selected as AACHAF Research Fellows from a competitive pool of applicants and were commissioned to research and write essays on neighborhood change and historic preservation in each of the ten study cities. This compendium, called Perspectives of Neighborhood Change, is part of a broader collection of resources for Preserving African American Places: Growing Preservation’s Potential as a Path for Equity, a report that seeks to elevate emerging ideas, research, observations, and questions on the critically important issues of equitable development, social justice, and the practice of preservation.
