Heritage Documentation Programs, in collaboration with the National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE), seeks applications from qualified students and recent graduates for 2019 summer employment documenting historic sites and structures of architectural, landscape, and technological significance throughout the United States. Duties involve on-site field work and the preparation of measured and interpretive drawings and written historical reports for the HABS/HAER/HALS Collection at the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress. Projects last 12 weeks, beginning in late May or early June. Salaries range from approximately $8,000 to $12,000 for the summer, depending upon job responsibility and level of experience. Positions will be located at the HDP office in Washington, DC.Applications are due March 1, 2019.Positions are open to currently enrolled graduate students, and to undergraduate students who will have completed three years of course work by the beginning of summer 2019. Recent graduates (degree awarded October 2017 or later) may also apply.
