Brown v. Board: A Tale of 3 (Delaware) Schools

03-30-2022 16:27

This webinar took place on March 30, 2022

As part of the work of the National Trust’s African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund, the Trust has been working to expand the narrative around the Supreme Court case that came to be known as Brown v. Board of Education.

While often thought of as a single case, Brown v. Board was a portfolio of cases brought by five communities across the country to desegregate American schools.

This webinar is about  the role of the three sites in Delaware : Claymont High School (Claymont Community Center), Hockessin Colored School#107C, and Howard High School (Howard School of Technology), in desegregating America’s school system. During this session you will learn the stories of each site and how they all connect to each other and Brown v. Board.

In addition to sharing history about the case, this session will also include updates on the National Trust's work to preserve and tell the full story of Brown v. Board.
