Involved in a variety of volunteer activities geared toward community preservation since relocating to Dartmouth in 1998. Instrumental in getting the Community Preservation Act to Dartmouth in 2003; served on Dartmouth’s Historical Commission; the Community Preservation Committee; and elected to the Dartmouth Select Board serving one term, 2006-2009.  Served on a variety of ad hoc committees in Dartmouth, such as the town’s Budget & Revenue Task Force; the steering committee to update Dartmouth’s Master Plan & the Economic Development sub-committee; served on the Police Chief Search & Screen Committee; past Town Meeting member.

Diane Gilbert had an extensive career in Human Resources management (1973-1998). Her last position was Director, HR Services, for BankBoston, where she managed a staff of 75 and a budget of $10 million. Prior to that, she pioneered the development of a Human Resources information systems function for Draper Laboratory, affiliate of M.I.T.
