Jennifer is co-principal at the firm of Past Perfect, Inc., a consulting firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan dedicated to working with historic buildings, sites, and context. Since 1997 Jennifer has managed a variety of projects including the Evaluation of the Historic Resources of Downtown Mackinac Island (2011) and the Downtown Grand Rapids Historic Resources Survey (2000) and Grand Rapids Heartside and Heritage Hill Historic District Updates (2017). She consulted as part of the team for the Grand Rapids, Michigan and Milford, Michigan Master Plans on issues relative to the existing historic resources and patterns. She was awarded the “40 under 40” award by Grand Rapids Business Journal in 2003 and the Preservation Volunteer Award by the Grand Rapids Historic Preservation Commission in 2002. Jennifer has taught at Kendall College of Art & Design since 1997 including courses in Art History, Architectural History, History of Interior Design, Historic Preservation, and World Architecture. Jennifer is the Chair of the Kent County Council for Historic Preservation’s Modernism Committee. Jennifer is certified in Architectural History 36 CFR 61 by the State of Michigan.
