If you have experience with individual National Register nominations for reconstructed properties under
criteria e, please share any guidance or lessons learned.
I recently received a query from a local nonprofit interested in seeking National Register listing for a reconstructed lighthouse. It was rebuilt after being damaged beyond repair in a storm. The exterior is largely unaltered save being elevated on slightly higher piers. The interior changes reflect its current use as a museum, not a working lighthouse (this change in use predates the reconstruction). The owners want to see the reconstructed lighthouse listed on the register, as was it's predecessor. I want to give them the best advice possible. Thanks for your help,
