Who can I hire in the Mpls St. Paul area to assist me with a Section 106 review that is being completed by the SHPO in St. Paul?  I only recently learned of the project and after 10 weeks have a pile of papers 6 inches tall.  I have no way to determine what I should put my effort into on remediation with this project.  I can do most of the heavy lifting but need to stick to what may work for consultation with the SHPO?  Thank you.  Scott Marek  612-250-6254 or

    Hi Scott:

There's a company called the 106 Group based in your area that might be able to help. Here's a link to their site:

Tell them that Jeff from Poplar Forest sent them your way.

You could try Mead & Hunt. They do a lot of 106 work across the Midwest. I believe that Sebastian is the historic preservation person in this office.

Hi, Scott. The Minnesota Historical Society has a database of preservation specialists. Many of the consultants listed under "Tax Credits: Historic Consultants/Applications" have experience working within the 106 realm as well.
