Partnership for Building Reuse

Partnership for Building Reuse

Recognizing the environmental, economic, and community benefits of the reuse of vacant and blighted property, the National Trust for Historic Preservation formed the Partnership for Building Reuse in conjunction with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in 2012 to enhance opportunities for reuse in major U.S. cities. Working with ULI District Councils in five cities across the country the Partnership brought together community groups, preservation advocates, real estate professionals, and civic leaders to understand the common barriers to building reuse and develop action agendas of policy innovations, incentives, and tools to make reuse easier and more likely. The summary report of the project along with reports from each Partnership city, including a local action agenda, are below.
