The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission’s Division of Architecture and Preservation is seeking a skilled preservation architect to join its Harrisburg office as an Architectural Consultant.
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is responsible for more than 450 buildings across 34 historic sites and museums throughout the commonwealth, including the State Museum of Pennsylvania and the State Archives. The Architectural Consultant hired for this position will serve as a project coordinator for large-scale architectural and engineering projects as well as a designer for small-scale preservation projects across these sites.
Work includes developing and reviewing construction drawings, specifications, budgets, and schedules. The successful candidate will have experience in applying the Secretary of Interior’s Standards, excellent communications skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Experience with AutoCAD is required.
Please note that PHMC is currently hiring in another architecture position: Chief of Architecture and Conservation. Applying for one position will not qualify you for the other; candidates interested in working with PHMC’s Division of Architecture and Preservation are strongly encouraged to apply for both positions.
This position is open only to architects licensed in Pennsylvania. A complete position description, qualification requirements, and salary information can be found at http://www.scsc.pa.gov/Job-Seekers/Open-Test-Announcements/Documents/2017-108_Architectural_Consultant.htm
