Profile

Ms. Stephanie Phillips

City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation

Bio

I am an interdisciplinary designer, planner, and preservationist inspired by the nuanced overlaps between disciplines, especially those that operate within the built environment. I am interested in exploring ways to make cities more equitable through heritage (both tangible and intangible), technology, and culture.

With an educational background in architectural design, historic preservation, and urban studies, I have honed the ability to analyze technical details while maintaining a deep understanding of big picture goals. In my current role with the City of San Antonio, I facilitate the design review process and contribute to the leadership and development of community-based projects centered around the city's many historic resources. My previous roles have focused on construction management, multi-million dollar project coordination, historic building surveys, condition assessments, and teaching and mentoring.

I am inspired by projects, products, and people that merge buildings with culturally-minded, innovative, and people-first ideas. I aim for this convergence in both my personal and professional work.
