National Trust Partners Network

The National Trust Partners Network comprises more than 100 state, regional, and local nonprofit organizations representing the top-tier preservation organizations in the country. These organizations are actively involved in saving and protecting historic places, advocating for preservation-friendly policies, and promoting the economic and social benefits of historic preservation.

Criteria and Benefits

To join the Partners Network, you must meet all of the following criteria and submit an application that includes a letter of endorsement from an established, professional preservation organization:

  • Be a 501(c) (3) organization with preservation as a primary mission
  • Be recognized as a lead preservation organization in the state, region, or city
  • Be engaged in building a constituency for preservation
  • Have at least one full-time professional staff person*
  • Have staff or board members participate in one fee-based Partner Network-related convening a year
  • Complete an annual survey aimed at identifying trends in the preservation movement to better inform content and trainings
  • Contribute to the network as writers, trainers, speakers and mentors, as needed
  • Be current Preservation Leadership Forum members at the organizational level
  • Submit a complete an application that includes a letter of endorsement from an established professional preservation organization, such as a State Historic Preservation Office or statewide/regional/local preservation nonprofit

*Highly functioning organizations with part-time professional or all volunteer staff to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Members of the Partners Network receive all of the benefits of standard organizational-level Forum members, plus:

  • Regular communication pieces designed specifically for the Partners Network
  • Meetings and networking opportunities organized exclusively for Partner Network organizations: mini-conferences and special programming at the National Preservation Conference
  • Use of the National Trust Partners Network brand
  • Priority for training registrations
  • Exclusive access to the Richard and Julia Moe grant fund
  • Exclusive eligibility for the Trustees' Award for Organizational Excellence
  • Access to a discounted WealthEngine subscription
