In 2007 and 2008, the Maine Legislature created state tax credits for the rehabilitation of historic buildings. This report describes the economic and fiscal impacts of the state historic tax credits to date (2011), and projects the economic and fiscal effects from 2012 to 2023 of two different scenarios -- allowing the tax credits to expire, and enabling them to continue.
